This is one you can have some fun with.?

A lady at work is getting married; to another woman. She has asked two of us guys to stand up with her as part of the bridal party.

We are honored that she has asked us. However here is our problem. What do we call ourselves? Not groomsmen, not best man…..?

We have been taking it in stride. We have come up with ‘Queens for a Day”, “Queenbees”, and “Fairy Odd Guys”.

Have some fun here. We will be giving a few toasts and plan to use these comments about this in our speaches. If there is a real answer, we would like to know. Please no real rude comments. We like her and she is a very fine co-worker.

Thanks and enjoy.

Seriously, the correct term is “Honor Attendant.” That is the term for someone who is standing up for the bride or groom and is not specified by gender. These days it is common, for instance, if there is re-marriage the bride might want her teenage son to be her Honor Attendant instead of having a Maid of Honor or a daughter could be her father’s Honor Attendant instead of him having a Best Man, or the bride or groom might have a good friend of the opposite sex that they want in their wedding party. I kinda like “Fairy Odd Guys” though!
