Wedding Emcee Tips
any tips to spiced up my wedding party???
can you suggest anything on how to spiced up my wedding party??? I dont want my guests to get bored in the middle of the party. I had attended several wedding parties and im so sick and tired having those usual things like having an Emcee… any alternatives? because i find it out dated!
First let’s just say that if I went to any wedding and they did several things that were more personal and thoughful as opposed to traditional…I would be completely surprised by that. I think too many people get hung up on Wedding Etiquette and forget that it’s a day of celebration. When did the official acceptance of co-ed bachlor/bachelorette parties begin? When did EVERYONE concede to different dress styles for the bridal party? My point: bring your own unique qualities to the “party,” and disregard that nagging “what will people think.”
Here are some suggestions for you:
1. Lottery tickets for favors tucked in organza bags.
2. Fruit centerpieces. A bowl of lemons with cascading sheer yellow ribbon.
3. Freeze a bottle of lemon vodka in a milk carton with lemon slices and put in the center of tables…somehow.
4. Use a sushi chef for the main attraction. Ok, depending on your budget and the number of guests…use several.
5. LOVE fast food? Rent a french fry stand…but there is of course a catch. So as not to look like a backyard picnic, serve prime rib or something relatively upscale on the buffet. Also serve on fine china.
6. Have the photographer or family friend take photos of each guest and tag alongs. Send picture in thank you card.
7. Set up a photo booth for all of the guests.
8. Ask close friends or family members to stand up right before he pronounces you man and wife, and give 5 seconds worth of advice…”Judy and I have been married for 35 yrs, it requires as much patience as it does love.” You get the gist.
9. Donate a certain amount of money to several charities for the favors and let each guest know it was given in their honor.
10. If it happens to be a VERY small wedding, get each couple something different that symbolizes what they mean to you or something you just know they would like.
Hope it helps.Good Luck!!
